The natural condition in which the mother protects her baby and gives them a sense of security and warmth is known in psychology as “holding.” The common assumption is that many adults also need this sense of security and calm achieved by holding.

My second childhood is a set of soft furniture inspired by parental holding positions. With the help of a softshell, recesses, pockets, and gentle rocking, the set allows users to return to the feeling of being held and protected.

The project includes 3 objects, made from textile and beanbag feeling with metal construction. Each object allows the user to return to childhood in different body postures to hold the object or be held by the object in the preferred intensity.
